Second Doctor's Visit

Today was our second visit with Doctor Friedell (pronounced Fruhdell-the emphasis goes on the "dell"). Matt was able to leave work for an hour or so to come to the appointment with me! I know he was looking forward to it since he missed out on being there the last time when I had my first ultrasound. We didn't know he would do an ultrasound that day or Matt would have come.
Today they just took my weight (down 17 pounds. That seems unreal to me. I haven't really lost much else lately, so I think I am at my lowest, I should start putting it back on little by little.), my blood pressure, which was normal, and we listened to the baby's heart beat. It's funny, whenever I have felt any tiny little itsy bitsy flutterings it has been on the left side of my abdomen. When we use the fetal monitor we always hear the most bumping around on that side as well, and today when we listened to the heart beat, it took him awhile to find it, but sure enough he found it on the left side! So I am guessing that is where the placenta is attached, and where the baby lives for now.
The heart rate was 154 bpm. The normal range is anywhere from 120 to 160 bpm's. According to old wive's tales a heart rate over 140 means girl, and we were way over 140. Last night I had a dream that it was a little girl, so maybe I have a little clairvoyancy. Anyways, for now my best guess is girl. I think that's all for now!

Cute blog! You need to post some pictures when your belly decides to pop out and we still need to figure out a time to meet up. I think that we used to live next to the dog park that you are talking about (Lawrence and Inner Lake Shore??)
